LIFE stands for local intensive food enterprise.
A lifetime spent in agriculture, horticulture, and hydroponics has bought me to the clear resolution that more intelligent ways of producing food must be found, if we are to feed our ever increasing population. 2022 continues to give us challenges of supply continuity and affordability in the UK
It's not just about volume of production, but the diligent use of water, nutrients, heat and light which makes the whole food production process more sustainable.
Waste, excess packaging, food miles and post harvest treatments to promote shelf life all negatively impact on the food supply chain.
Technologies such as the FOODY enable local fresh production in limited spaces such as green houses, balconies, rooftops, patios etc, close to where it is needed and it also makes the best use of heat, light, water and nutrients.
